Credo in Concrete: Tour of the CEU Campus | #CEU35

How can contemporary architecture transform a historic city block? And how can a university become a space not only for education, but also for open debate and civic engagement?
Led by Alexey Zelensky, this guided tour explores CEU’s Nádor Street campus, where O’Donnell + Tuomey’s award-winning contemporary intervention connects historic buildings through courtyards, bridges, staircases and communal spaces. Along the way, we will discover how old and new architecture meet, while also tracing the story of a university closely linked to the democratic transformation of Central Europe and, more recently, to debates and civic resistance surrounding academic freedom in Hungary.
The tour is not only about architecture and education, but the role buildings can play in creating spaces for exchange, community and freedom.
The tour is organised as part of the CEU 35 programme series, in collaboration between Central European University and KÉK Urban Walks.
